Guidelines for submitting the Border League Results sheet for 2010

To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Holt and Haskell Border League we have developed a web site to give members clubs the facility to see their scorecards online with League Tables and Averages automatically created by the web coding.

www.bordercricketleague.com

To this aim, may we ask all clubs to discard all the old remaining forms, some with different points systems and sizes for the ones enclosed.

Much of the information is as required from previous seasons, but we are asking for just a small amount of extra information to make the uploading of scorecards into the web site easier.

1) Could all names of the 11 players be included on the batting innings even if they did not bat, preferably with their full name ie. John Smith, Colin Brown etc, not just J Smith, C Brown.

2) Would it be possible to include catchers and stumpers names in the How out column, again if possible with full names. Many of the cards you see on the website for the 2009 season do not have the fielding statistics.

3) Could I ask that if an Umpire and Scorer is used (not just various ones during the match) could they also be named please.

4) It is not now compulsary for teams to work out the points on the result sheet. The computer coding now works these out in accordance with the league playing conditions as below. The facility is still there however should you wish to do so.

LEAGUE MATCH POINTS
(a) Result Win … 10 points
Tie ……………………… 5 points
Lost …………………… 0 points
No result …………… 0 points and will not count towards points average

(b) Bonus Points:

Batting: Bowling:
3 runs per over - 1 point        2 wickets taken - 1 point
4 runs per over - 2 points      4 wickets taken - 2 points
5 runs per over - 3 points      6 wickets taken - 3 points
6 runs per over - 4 points      8 wickets taken - 4 points
7 runs per over + - 5 points   10 wickets taken - 5 points

Notes: 1. Each part-over shall be regarded as a completed over for bonus points

(c) In the event of a batting side having less than 11 players and being all out, maximum bowling points will be awarded to the bowling side.

(d) In the event of a team conceding a League Match, 18 points will be awarded to their opponents, and zero points to the team conceding.

5) Please ensure all completed results sheets are either faxed or e-mailed to Denis Emery as soon as possible after the match, but no later than 48 house. His details are shown on the results form overleaf.

Thank you for your assistance, enjoy the cricket
